Sideline 1905 Authentic Vintage Font is the third font in a series I’m archiving from an old architectural correspondence coursebook I found one fateful day while estate sale shopping with my wife.

I use this font in my work specifically when I’m looking for a hand-drawn feel that doesn’t feel overly perfected and kind of feels like it could be seen on a Wild Bill advertisement, know what I mean?

I like to think of the ad copy that was written in the margins of images or the neatly lettered correspondences between the east and the west – this font is truly a great balance of romantic and restrained.

It rides the line well and proves itself versatile once you get to know it.

Suggested use: women’s suffrage newsletters, camp tees, social post overlays.

Not my Type Font anyone? Not my Type Font was created with a real typewriter. To be specific it was on Oliver courier typewriter that I bought at an antique market.

I originally bought it, to take a picture of it. The typewriter that is—for one of my image packs.

It seemed to make sense to create a typeface from it—so I did. It’s one of the most detailed typewriter fonts you can find here on the Creative Market. With 3 alternatives for each character.

If you want your design to have that nostalgic typewriter effect this is perfect. It’s old-fashioned and retro with just a hint of grunge. With the 3 different versions (see contextual alternatives below) you can make it look like a real impact typewriter.

Contextual Alternatives

I created 3 versions of every letter and number that get progressively bolder. If you enable contextual alternatives in your design application the letters will change automatically as you type.

I went to great trouble to keep the detail from my original scans. I’ve yet to see another typewriter font that has the same amount of detail as this one.
