About the Acme Projector Display Typeface
Acme Portable Sound Projector (yes, it is a mouthful – we usually call it ‘APSP’) is a modern display typeface consisting of two styles – serif and script, The serif version of the typeface is an unconventional take on classic serif typefaces such as Baskerville, Century and Didot, updated for the 21st century, There’s a slight variation between thicks and thins (promoting legibility), and the characters are legible at smaller sizes due to large rounded serifs and open counters
The script version of APSP is a crisp, edgy take on 1930s-50s signwritten movie title cards, The ascenders are the same height as the characters in the serif form of APSP at any given size, making pairing the two fonts exceptionally easy,
